Lisa Ullén (piano) and Lars Bröndum (live electronics) has performed together in different configurations since 2003 in ensembles such as reSurge, exSurge and the Aleatoric Chamber Ensemble. This concert will present new music that lives on the edge of notated structures and improvisation in dialog between piano/prepared piano and live electronics.
Lisa Ullén is a pianist and composer, born in Seoul, Korea, raised in the north part of Sweden. She has fronted her own quartet, since the mid nineties, and to date has released as a pianist over 30 albums . She studied at the Royal Musical Academy, Stockholm, and conducted further studies in jazz at Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA, EAM at the electronic music studio EMS in Stockholm and the Royal Institute of Art. She has been working for many years in the field of improvisation, free jazz and contemporary art music. Ullén tours internationally, solo as well in different groups.

Lars Bröndum, PhD, is a composer, performer of live-electronics and guitarist. His music often explores the interaction between acoustic and electronic instruments and lives on the border between notated music and improvisation. Lars performs live using an analog modular system, a Theremin, effect pedals and sometimes a laptop with Max/MSP. Bröndum is the founder of the independent record label Antennae Media. His’ cds “Fallout”, ”Phaethon” and ”Aleatoric Anthems and Palindromes” has been awarded best independent Experimental Music by SOM (Swedish Independent Music producers). In 1992 Bröndum finished his PhD in Composition & Theory at the University of Pittsburgh. Lars also has a Masters in Music in Composition and Music Theory (1989) and a Bachelors of Music degree in Guitar Performance (1987) from Youngstown State University. Lars is currently a professor in Music at Skövde University.
