Lars Bröndums verk "Aleatoric Hymns" är ett Covid-19-projekt var han har komponerat nya anti-nationalistiska aleatoriska hymner för alla länder i världen. Det har resulterat i 6 volymer med 139 hymner. Se https://larsbrondum.bandcamp.com/. Idén att skapa dessa ironiska hymner kommer från att observera att nationalismen fått mer grogrund under pandemin. Nationalism är dåligt eftersom den delar oss i grupper som bara värnar om sina egna. Dessa nya hymner är alla variationer på samma stycke - men arrangerade på olika sätt (live eller genererade enligt aleatoriska principer). 17 musiker från olika länder har deltagit i detta ettåriga projekt. På denna konsert uppförs verket "Alea - A Concerto for small Chamber Ensemble on an Aleatoric Hymn” live av The Aleatoric Chamber Ensemble: My Eklund: kontrabasblockflöjt, Per Gärdin: saxofoner, Daniel Borgegård Älgå: basklarinett, Lisa Ullén: piano, Lars Bröndum: live-elektronik.

For a year Lars Bröndum has composed hymns for every country in the world. It has resulted in six volumes of music with 17 participating musicians from around the world. On this day we celebrate the end of the project with the performance of "Alea - A Concerto for small Chamber Ensemble on an Aleatoric Hymn” live by The Aleatoric Chamber Ensemble: Lisa Ullén: piano, My Eklund: recorders, Per Gärdin: saxophones, Daniel Borgegård Älgå: flute and clarinets, Lars Bröndum: live electronics
The hymns are anti-nationalistic anthems for all countries in the world. The idea to create these ironic anthems comes from observing the unfortunate resurgence of nationalism because of the pandemic. Nationalism is inherently bad since it separates us into tribes that only look out for them selves. These hymns are all variations on the same one page graphic score - but performed and arranged in different ways (live or generated with an aleatoric program written in Max/MSP).
