Acoustic continuums: Gerard Lebik - Josefin Lindebrink - Ewert Ekros

17 Jan 2015 - 19:30

Josefin Lindebrink will present her piece Altered Space.
Also visiting from Wrocław, Poland, Gerard Lebik will perform Zopan Sinus Infection.

Josefin Lindebrink – Altered Space, 2015

A composition of augmented and deformed acoustic environments. Based on methods for performing auralizations, this piece aims to challenge perceptional boarders of sound transmitting in space.

Altered Space is a continuance of a piece presented at Laboratorio Sensorial in Guadalajara Mexico, 2014.

Josefin Lindebrink is an acoustician who works with room acoustic design, virtual acoustics modeling, and auralization. Her work intersects perceptual studies of sonic environments. Her work seeks to build platforms that explore our relationship to physical space. This takes the form of installation-based projects that dissects the daily acoustic spaces we inhabit.

Gerard Lebik - Zopan Sinus Infection

Zopan Sinus Infection - Research of dependence between pure tones and generated sound, referring to first experiments with conversion of electric waves to audible sounds.

Audible range of the waves emitted by Multifunction Generator - ZOPAN KZ 1406 0.0005 Hz-100 kHz, produced in the 80's by the "Polish Institute of Scientific Equipment" - ZOPAN, are used to "sine infection" in define space.

Gerard Lebik - musician, sound artist living Wroclaw/Poland. Works with improvised, experimental and intermedia music. He's the author of sound installations and sound interventions in public space. Creates music and sound either by improvisation, musical notation or through directly manipulation of sonic material using electro and acoustic media. Explores the audible phenomena field through various tools and techniques: saxophones, zopan wave generators, air compressors, VHS recorders, video objects, electronics, analog video feedback, software. In 2007 graduated Wroclaw Academy of Music.
