15 maj kl.19.00

Fri entré. Ingen förbokning behövs // Free entrance. No booking required.

TRACES AND RESONANCE
- a rhythmic investigation of traces by Sara Soumah

Traces and Resonance is a solo that has been created out of Sara’s dance practice during two years at the master programme New Performative Practices, at Uniarts, The School of Dance and Cirkus. By decomposing movements from habitual patterns and dance knowledge stored in the body, Sara wants to explore her own rhythm and ways of doing the movements - if one can even have one’s own rhythms and movements?

” I listen. I listen to my intuition, to rhythm and music and sound, to the place and situation I am in, to my body and all the experience it carries with it. I believe I work with traces of what I carry with me from all the years of dance and music, traces that are interpreted and transformed within me. What traces does my body carry? How do I relate to the origin of the traces? What kind of politics does my body carry as a white, Swedish woman in relation to the origin of the traces and what contexts do I cultivate through my practice?”

Sara Soumah is a dancer and choreographer and is right now doing the last semester at New Performative Practices. Sara invites you to Traces and Resonance at Fylkingen as part of the final presentations of the education. Besides working with her own dance practice, Sara is a member of Live Art Collective MELO.
